How CBT Can Help Change How You Think About Yourself
You may be here because something in your life feels stuck, overwhelming, or out of alignment.
Are you struggling with anxiety or self-doubt?
Are you constantly worried about professional failure?
Do you find yourself waking up in the middle of the night with your inner critic mercilessly berating you for decisions you made or things you should have said?
Is your anxiety activated by the feeling that you still need to prove yourself, your worth, your skills?
Does all this anxiety monopolize your emotional bandwidth, leaving you feeling disconnected from the people most important to you?
I want you to know: it makes sense, and you’re not alone.
My Approach to Therapy
My work is grounded in evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which clarifies the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT offers practical, experiential strategies to shift unhelpful thinking patterns so you can change how you respond to difficult emotions and situations.
I take this approach a step further by exploring your personal anxiety origin story—the experiences and beliefs that shaped your inner dialogue. Recognizing where anxious thoughts, chronic worry, or perfectionistic tendencies began helps us target the root causes of your anxiety rather than only managing symptoms. This exploration is never about blame or staying stuck in the past; it’s about using insight to create change in the present.
From this foundation, we’ll create personalized CBT strategies that fit your unique beliefs and challenges. These evidence-based tools help break cycles of overthinking, quiet negative self-talk, and foster a more realistic and compassionate view of yourself.
This deeper, individualized process supports lasting transformation—helping you overcome old barriers, build resilience against your inner critic or Imposter Syndrome, and cultivate self-trust and confidence. The result is both immediate relief and long-term growth..
Why I Do This Work
My path to becoming a therapist began early in life. As the middle child, I naturally became the problem-solver and confidant. I learned to be “nice,” to put others first, and to downplay my own strengths and believe that these strengths were the result of outside forcesinstead of intrinsic worth.
As a female student, I learned to stay quiet, be reserved, and let others shine. Looking back, it is no surprise that I was drawn to a helping profession, ultimately earning both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work.
My work has taught me how deeply socialization can shape us: girls are often encouraged to be agreeable, self-sacrificing, and helpful, sometimes at the cost of their own self-esteem and confidence; boys are often told to be strong and hide their feelings, which can leave them angry or misunderstood. Some people have experienced varying degrees of being bullied, which slowly and persistently erodes self-worth. Others have learned to believe that the gateway to acceptance is doing for others at the expense of themselves. These unspoken lessons shape our self-perception, our relationships, and the beliefs we carry into adulthood.
My work has evolved from focusing on “mental illness” as a set of symptoms to be fixed to viewing mental health as a path of resilience, action, and transformation. I’ve learned, through personal and professional experiences, that growth is always possible. Even in the face of profound challenges, people are capable of meaningful, lasting change.
This belief — that with support and new skills — people can create lives aligned with their authentic selves — is why I do this work.
