Burnout & Exhaustion Therapy for High-Functioning Adults
Finding your way back when you can't run any longer on empty.
Online CBT - licensed in New York and Florida
Is This You?
You're not falling apart. You're still showing up, still getting things done, still holding it together for the people who count on you. But something underneath has quietly being depleted.
You're tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix
Things that used to feel manageable now feel like too much
You're going through the motions of your day, work, and relationships without enthusiasm for any of it.
You feel irritable, flat, or disconnected more often than not — and then feel guilty for feeling that way
You keep waiting for a break that either doesn't come, or when it does come it doesn't help
If this sounds familiar, you're exactly who I work with.
What Burnout Looks Like in High-Functioning Adults
Burnout in capable, high-functioning adults rarely looks like stopping. More often it looks like:
Running on empty while still performing. You can still do the job, manage the household, show up to the things you're supposed to show up to — but it is becoming more exhausting, and you feel like there's less and less of you left at the end of it.
Depletion that gets mistaken for laziness or a bad attitude — including by yourself. You're not less capable. You've just lost the motivation to bring your A-Game or even your B-Game, and you feel more irritable, frustrated, and shut down than you once were.
A loss of the parts of life that used to feel good. Work, relationships, hobbies, even rest itself can start to feel like one more obligation, and you feel like nothing actually replenishes you anymore.
If you're not sure whether what you're experiencing is burnout, depression, or some mix of both, that uncertainty is common and doesn't need to be sorted out before you reach out. Part of an initial consultation is figuring out, together, what's actually going on.
How I Work With Burnout
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — a structured, evidence-based approach focused on identifying what's driving your depletion and building a realistic, sustainable path back, not just pushing through until the next crash.
This isn't about telling you to rest more or work less, as if that were simple. Together, we'll:
Identify what's actually driving your burnout — the specific patterns, demands, and thoughts sustaining it
Examine where your standards or sense of responsibility may be adding to the load
Build practical, realistic changes you can actually sustain, not just aspirational ones
Track progress against clear, individualized goals, so recovery is something you can see, not just hope for
What New Clients Should Know
Therapy here is active-change focused, not purely reflective. If you're looking for a space to process out loud with occasional insight, that's a valid approach — it's just not the one I offer. I work best with clients who are ready to build and practice new tools between sessions.
I don't provide crisis intervention or treat severe or persistent mental illness. If what you're experiencing includes symptoms beyond what's described here, I'm happy to talk during a consultation about whether this is the right fit or help point you toward a better one.
A free 15-minute consultation is the first step — we'll talk about what's bringing you in, and you'll get a feel for whether this approach is right for you.
